Julia McDermitt is a minor character in Carrie. She is portrayed by Janie Squire.
Julia McDermitt has long, blonde hair and is a member of the Mortimer Snerds. She was present during the shower scene and also at Miss Collins's detention. She is also shown going to the gym as Miss Collins tells the girls to practice drills. At the prom, she was wearing a green dress. When Sue sneaks into the prom, she is seen hugging her date. When Tommy and Carrie nominated prom queen she is seen screaming with joy when they were elected King and Queen of the Prom. In Carrie's rage, Julia is seen trying to escape while Norma gets sprayed to death with the fire hose. Julia also bumps into Miss Collins and the others before dying.
She dies by either being trampled or burned to death.
In the unused scene, She survived the bump with Miss Collins and the students carrrying Tommy's body. After Carrie set the blue curtain on fire and walked down the stage, She is last seen encountering Carrie then backing up as Carrie is seen leaving the school. She was burned to death like everyone else
